Ok, So I got some questions....

Look for 2s, 3s, 4s etc. on your battery pack. I would recommend the hobbywing version 2 esc over the castle. More speed and from personal experience, more reliable. They both can be tuned equally. I would stay in the 6s battery power. The lepoard will do 8s, but recommended is 4s for the 1340...

    Buying Leopard 1090KV

Ebay is great for those, I bought mine from Kershaw Designs with a few pinions. Save your money and don't buy those pinions...lol

    Castle Mamba Monster 2200kv

Castle was holding up fine actually. The CC speed control was another story! I installed the HW ESC back into the car and had my temps rise about 10 degrees. Never got blistering hot but made me a bit uncomfortable around 180-185 degrees. I have since switched to the Leopard 1090kv with 7075rc...

    ESC.... smoked

I burned up my esc. When I installed the motor upgrade kit from 7075rc I used a pinion from Kershaw. There were clearance issues with the pinion being very close to the cutout for the motor shaft on the motor mount. I should have ground the pinion down more than I had. Either way, I ordered the...

    rear cvds?

That was me. The issues I had with the cvd on the rears are the grub screws that secure the pivot pins don't like to stay put, even with red loctite. I used a 3/8 id washer drilled out and chamfered to accept the axle stub. Put the spacer on the inside of the wheel carrier then the inner bearing...

    lipos?

I run Turnigy Nano Tech 6000 mah 3s in parallel. Have not done w.o.t runs straight through, but my bash times are still in the upper 40 minute range. They have the best punch of any batteries I have used. They are 35-50c rated and in my opinion every bit of that.

serious complaint redcat need to listen to and think about

Much faster with your set up. I switched to the Leopard 1090 and geared 14/44 and with the Cc Mamba Monster my XBE was significantly faster.

    XB vs TT

ELECTRIC all the way. Gas is cool for the noise factor but that same factor makes it a poor choice if you live in a neighborhood. As far as power goes, electric again hands down. Speed, draw. Acceleration, electric. Ease of maintenance..electric. Light weight, less broken parts due to inertial...

electronics i want to use in my xb-e

I have affectionately named my XBE the "Money Pit". All new stuff, had two short runs with the new motor and the HW ESC decided to play Roman candle. Time for a new ESC, gonna just bite the bullet and buy the Castle XL. Sorry to all the people I promised video, but that isnt happening yet.

    XB-E motor specs

We were doing speed runs with a friends newly built E revo last night and ran standard Turnigy and Nano Techs. Noticably more punch with Nano tech and we netted 4 mph faster top speed with lower temps. Also, we have done the puncture test with nano techs and got only puffs of smoke from the...

7075rc motor mount and wheel carriers

Almost finished with my installation. I have all of 7075rc's parts installed and I am finishing the electronic placement today. I will post pics of what I had to modify to get these parts mounted. Not too much to do looking back but more than I had expected. Then again I am a bit of a...

electronics i want to use in my xb-e

Did you try Kershaw Designs? I bought mine from him. Be forewarned, mine came with an 8mm shaft. You have to specify if you want 6mm or 8mm. I did not and got the 8.

    XB-E motor specs

I am still amazed at how short of runtimes everyone is getting. I do not race so I can only assume you are running at close to full throttle all the time? With bashing around I get an avg of 52 minutes with Turnigy NanoTech 3s 6000mah batts. I get close to 40 minutes with stock batteries. I run...

    XB-E to XT-E

That is insanely hot, and incredible that the motor still works! Check your ESC temps too. With the CC Mamba.Monster Esc, my motor temps were in the 150-165 range, with the hobbywing they were about 10 degrees higher with occasional spikes to around 200. Not sure what the esc was doing but...

    stock tires for sale?

I run the mamba monster 2200kv with stock gearing and hpi tires. My top speeds are around 58 mph. Your top speed is just under 50 mph. With your motor and stock tires you will drop about 10 mph. To get to the mid 30's you will need a 9t pinion. I responded to your pm.

    stock tires for sale?

holy cow, what motor and gearing are you running? I have a set of the stockers with about 70% tread left. I switched to HPI tires as well.

ah the laws of supply and demand. Makes it rough in this economy.

    Go faster With Rampage Xt

Should have gone electric. Stock electrics are faster than what you have described, not to mention more reliable, no tuning, lighter, cleaner and easier to maintain. I gps'd my xbe at 49.8mph and that was in a small space. Just my two cents. Gas are great if you have no neighbors.

    program card

You are in default setting. You cannot auto detect a 3 or 5s. Has to be manually set.

    more bang for your buck!!!

The 7075rc wheel carriers will save you headaches when the stock bearings disintegrate and they will in short order. As far as your hp, stock drivetrain will be fine. I think your hp estimates are a bit high considering a peak hp and a driving hp will be significantly different. Overall the...
