Hey guys! I thought I would post about the Aftershock 8E i am builing. I had great fun with the backdraft with only a few upgrades. I am taking a new stock Aftershock and building it to a track beast. From what I have learned from my backdraft this should be fun. I will be adding aluminum front and rear hubs, front and rear sway bars, 17mm hubs with 1/8th buggy wheels and tires, aluminum shocks, aluminum cernter bb steering link, Jconcepts TRUTH body, aluminum shock towers and a-arm mounts, titanium links and good diff oils.

Hey dude! I should have it completed by Monday or so. I rand the lving hell out of my Backdraft 8E and I think with some tuning this should be a great contender and affordable. Most of the parts I am waiting on wil be here tomorrow so I can start putting her back together.

Can't wait to hear a report then. 4wd corr racing should be the big thing soon... how do those stock tires feel? they look decent.

The stock tires I replaced with 1/8thbuggy wheels and tires, much lower profile than stock. The stock tires work great but the truck flips extremely easy. The aluminum shock towers will be here Tuesday so I can complete it. Hopefully we don't get any snow mid weeks so I can test it on the track. I think the 4wd class will be great fun too! :D

Here are my last pics before I paint the shell. Yes the sway bars are a no brainer. They mount up very nice, but you have to buy 4x as they are very inexpensive but are sold 1 per bag. The aluminum shock towers I ordered should stay with the Bacdraft as they do not allow for the body mount holes. I installed the new shocks and showed how nice they are and aligned -I aligned them for the track... so when the weather gets a bit better. So far, its a nice sound truck. The shock towers bummed me out but that was the only thing so far and I actually ordered them from the Backdraft Option List . I have driven these and stock are a blast, I hope with my predictions on how this will handle I should be a contender on the track and a bonus bashing around! Its well worth the money!!

Very nice work

I also have an Aftershock.

Very fast car. A lot of car for the price. A real RTR!

I am going to upgrade the suspension too.

I was wondering if you have been able to run the car with a pair of 3S batteries?????

The stock esc cannot handle 2 - 3s batteries. Its ony a 80 amp. If you upgrade to a 120 or 150 amp you can. Hobbywing you makes the esc offers larger ones.

It says you have a Backdraft and Aftershock 8e they share the same stuff with the Earthquake 8e right? Except 17mm hubs.... Have you had any problems with the diffs??

I broke a front diff cup on a hard landing but landed flat - mine are both the original ones when they first were sold. Other than that no problems, the jump has also about 35 feet long and I launched extremely high-my fault.
