Receiver and Transmitter Upgrade

I have a Redcat Tornado Epx Pro and I wanted to upgrade the reciver. I was wondering if a Traxxas 2.4ghz would work with it. And would it still be lipo compatable. This is the receiver transmitter set I want. http://traxxas.com/products/parts/transmitters/2238tq24ghztraxxaslink2ch

It would work. The esc will regulate the voltage to the receiver.
