That is the one I use.

The volts I stated is the range. 8.4 is the max for a fully charged 2s pack.

Guess what guys.... ANOTHER noob question on its way!

As for the Lipo batteries that come stock... I don't have to charge those, right?

I see that with each upgraded Lipo there is some talk about charging them... For example the Killerbee 7.4V battery... before I install it I have to charge it? They don't come already charged? And then I have to charge it from time to time or does the car charge it as it drives?

Can someone be kind and help explain this.... Thank you!

All batteries need to be charged!

The stock battery should be a NIMH and the truck should have come with a charger for it. These trucks do not charge the battery as they go, you will have to charge them after each use and your life will be much easier with a good charger. The one you linked will work for NIMH as well as lipo and various others.

If you're unfamiliar with lipos they can be quite dangerous. It may be better to stick with the stock NIMH until you have done more research on them.

The DR does not come with a lipo pack. It comes with a 6.6 bolt nickel pack.

They don't come already charged?
It's not good to store lipos fully charged.

Yes you will need to charge it. The cars do not self charge.

You will need a lipo capable charger to charge lipo batteries.

You may want to stick to the hump packs until you get use to the vehicle.
