Which steel gears to get?

I bought this aluminum gear plate with the steel gears preinstalled (link. This setup seems very nice, the gears come off nicely and no grub screws to worry about. I remember reading though that there were some weak steel gears out there that were wearing very quickly.

Does anybody run these and know if they are reliable? If their crap I might just sell them and look for other steel gears. Thanks!

Bah gears! LOL.

Those are newer style gears. I know back in the day we had alot of problems with the Himoto gears wearing very quickly. Most of my problems with those gears was from the gears not being centered correctly which produced uneven wear.

I bought those same gears at the same place and they work great. They growl but have held up to my satisfaction. I did have to get some spacers from the local hardware store since it fit a little different than the original plastic setup.

Thats the Himoto gearplate, Kryptonite did some testing on it a year and a half ago. From what I remember he said it worked very well.
Ya Mr. On-Da-Run said it held up good.
