Had a proper test with it today in an open field, everything was fine. After about 25 minutes or so the truck shut down, got home and had a look. The fuel tank caved in, forgot to take the lid off and let some of the pressure out.
You need to install a tank vent. ;)

yep! A properly vented tank will make a world of difference.with out a well vented tank the pressure can build in the cell and force feed fuel through the carb and drizzle back out the air filter. Or if the tank can't get air for displacement the carb fights the pressure and doesn't have the power to pull fuel and the motor will die after a few minutes of running.
