got hpi wheels today, i see they don't have the steel rings on them, like the stock ones

Did you get the clones or real HPI ones ? The clones don't have the ring on the inside.

If it's real HPI wheel, there is no ring inside, the inside hex looks like plastic but they are made of metal, take a magnet, you will see.
