Does anyone know the stock settings for the Walbro 998 carb? I tried 1 1/2 on hsn and 1 1/4 on lsn and that does not seem to work with this carb

First pull the plug to make sure it's not wet. (Wet = Flooded)

The low need should be 1 1/4 out. High won't matter to get it started. (1 1/2 out)

Set the idle stop screw so that the throttle lever is midway up the tapered part of the screw.

Push the bulb a good 5 times.

Pull the starter a few times real slow.

Now a couple regular pulls and it should fire right up.

No idea...

You just have to eyeball it.

Did you check the fuel lines?

Filter line (inlet) goes to bottom of carb.

Return line goes to the top of the carb.

If you want to try and choke it you can use a plastic bag to cover the air filter.

If the filter is off you can stick you thumb in the intake.

If it is cold out these can help get you started.

Further to what RCDAD said:

1) Remove your glow plug, turn your car upside down, and pull the starter 10-15 times.

this will remove all the fuel hanging there.

clean your glow plug and reinsert it.

2) pump some fuel in the carb by pressing the pump button situated on the carb

3) Make sure you have the receiver battery charged, your car is ON and your throttle servo is a bit on the throttle side. (this will allow fuel to go in)

4) close ALL needles of your carb.

5) for the high needle, Open it 1.5 turns

for the low needle, Open it 3-4 turns

for the mixture, open it 3-4 turns as well

6) Pull the starter 5-6 times, your engine should fire. if not, get a new plug, maybe he one you have is not working.

7) the above is standard procedure to make it run.

once fired, re-adjust low needle to 1 turn. and adjust the idle for best sound and performance
