steering posts

I don't really like the steering post set up on the xbe,the top of the alloy post digs into the under side of the plastic front brace plate when you tighten down the top screw it puts pressure on the steering servo's ability to turn the post, I was thinking of puting a thrust bearings on the top of the steering post, has anyone else tried this......
