Roll Cage Issues

Thread after thread I hear questions will this fit off baja or FG and the answer is no because the roll cage is in the way.

Sounds to me like the roll cage was a afterthought in design.

What is the majority members thought on just starting over on the whole cage?

Would most of you sport the $ to have a quality .375" od 4130 chromoly tube cage? If you could not be as limited on exhaust and aircleaners? The baja cages go for around $250 and I would try to be as competetive as that as I could. Maybe even two models one with light brakets for little more.

I'd be interested in one. Someway to strengthen up or get rid of the flex the chassis has would be great at the same time.

Tabs to accept the HPI Light pods would be great! And better yet a cage to match the lines of a Asguard truck body would be sweet!

I could do the HPI light tabs but it would start to get pricey because they would have to be watercut. AS far as the asgaurd body I would do that on a custom basis. I don't think enough interest to jig up fixtures for that one. Your talking about a $300 plus cage for the Asgaurd maybe more.

I am talking a cage set up similar to factory with subtle changes to clear more aftermarket stuff. With a cost close to that of the baja cages out there.

The roll cage is coming along I need to make a couple cosmetic desisions then it is ready to start the jig process to keep the repeatability factor in there.

Thanks for the kind words I posted more pics on the "DOM on Rampage MT" thread of a DOM conversion I did for a member here on forum, Thanks guys for being patient with the parts hop ups production. I got a lot going on and also trying to get these pipe conversion service out to you guys quickly so you guys got something while we get all our tooling done for these pipes. But it will be nice when we bring it out.
