Hi guys, I just got my Redcat Rampage MT V3 in the mail from a guy that told me he had it for 3 years and that it had the stock 32cc engine on it.

Well turns out that's totally BS...just look at the pics and see for yourself. The only thing that's good is the DDM Pipe and the wheels/tires and the front and rear diffs and suspension. Chassis was a little bent near the rear bumper but my vise took care of that.

I would need to know if it is worth repairing or just buy a new one. I only want 1/5 4x4 MT no 4x4 stadium or buggies.

- the tank is leaking
- servos are crap
- engine is on its way out
- bearings must be finished

After taking it completely apart, ahhh its not that bad after all.

- Outer diff cups are stripped on some screws
- All the gears in tranny are used up
- roll cage
- bearings are all shot
- screws are all rusted and some stripped
- one bumper is broken
- needs 4 body posts

all in all im ordering everythin and soon it will be new again. Including a Rovan 36cc engine.

considering brand new is 800 plus tax not sure how much you paid for it but since you already purchased it now the best move would be to repair it to a running condition as cheap as possible

But honestly from pics alone looks great
Is the engine shot? you can rebuild top end for cheap too

Thx for answering but I went ahead and bought a new Orange one today @$1280.00.

I read in a post the difference between a V2 and a V3 and to me it was just better not fixng the old V1 I have.

I with seal out the shock spring of I do se they fit As they are .5mm ticket than the new.

sounds good! maybe you can use the old
one for parts if needed not sure which ones would fit v1-v3 many different designed parts.. still worth a shot

Now need to put a kill switch on it

Purchased the dinamite one...tested and works great with my Futaba 3PL. Shuts off engine on ch3 and when I shut the TX off.

I also ordered the aluminum center diff supports.

Wonder if I should do the breaking with stock muffler and then add on the DDM dominator pipe? Trying to figure out what that screw is used for at the end of the pipe. Is it an extra support screw?

Thx

The screw is to let excess oil that builds up and lays in there come out if needed,I have a custom Xt with that pipe on it,and if you end up wanting to sell the MT please let me know Thanks

It always sucks out loud when some bottom feeder cheats us,
While i do collect old vintage rc stuff so many scumbags out there i seldom mail order unless its one of the sources that will protect the buyer,
Anyway sorry it happened to you but coolness that it didnt ruin you and you had the funds to keep going,

The story goes like this.
Once upon a time I purchase a Savage 4.6 nitro.HPI engine blew the internal bearing and the balls messed up the engine. Bought a OS .30VG and bought a bunch of spare parts and after 2 years never broke one arm or shock... so I ended up building another savage with my parts. Bought a Picco p3-.28. sent it to clockworks to get modded and put that in my second truck. The Picco spanked the OS.

Then I sold both trucks and bought a Losi LST XXL and put my Picco in it. Played with it a few times and left RC all together.

11 years later after buying a house and getting married and having a 9yo kid I got into RC again.

I converted the LST XXL to electric with a CC Mamba X ESC and the motor from a XO 1650 kva on 2 x 3S Lipos.

Took it out for one spin... and the XXL was getting thrown around like a rag doll at anything over 1/2 throttle...it was all over the place. Then I hammered the throttle and blew rear diff after flipping it on the spot.

Repaired the diff with TiNi diff and got fed up of LIPO batteries always having to be maintained...so I traded the truck for a Smartech Uno 23cc Buggy which looked brand new with two sets of tires and a dominator pipe... Check the engine and it is totally toasted with 10psi compression. purchased and installed a new CY 23cc in winter and just did 1 tank break in.

I woke up one morning wanting my losi back so I called the guy up to see if he had my losi and he had sold it. He said he would trade his Rampage MT back his buggy (yes the guy that traded me the buggy is the same guy that traded me the Rampage)...got screwed twice...It's ok I have a new Rampage now lol...

I also bought a New Associates RC8T3.1 to put my Picco in. 1 galon on the Picco in the whole time I have it. It just finished it's break in. I sent the Picco to have the 2 bearings and the carb seals replaced after it sat in its box for 11 years to a very well known engine modder.
Just so everyone knows clockwerks never even touched my engine. The engine modder confirmed that it was 100% stock and never even touched. Basically I got screwed $80.00 and $40.00 both ways for shipping to get a bunch of clockwork stickers. YAY. Can't believe a fellow Canuk ripped of another.. Again...it's ok ok it's only money.

So I'm set now.

thx.

Well far from being my dream house, but after 11 years I almost paid 1/2 the motgage off and am finally begining to buy some toys for me.

Family has always come first. My daughter has everything she needs and more. I thank God for this.
Also a happy wife is a happy life. ?
