Started pulling her down for cleaning.
Strange way to secure motor.
I guess no one ever thought that the bolt hanging down would hit anything. 14454

No never tried it that's why I want to get this one going.
Trouble is I only have limited hours in the day to work on it before it gets too hot in the garage to work.
It's supposed to be Autumn (Fall) but we're still having days of 35C and 80% humidity.

Yep
You guys are all waiting for summer for good weather and I'm waiting for winter for it to be cool enough.
After cleaning all the crud off the motor I found it's a CY 25cc.
I never knew they made one that size.

Got the motor almost ready to go back in.
I thought I could get away with just replacing the primer bulb but when I got it out there was that much sideways slop in the throttle shaft it was jamming against the throttle body so it was into the parts bin and found the 990 at the bottom.
We'll see how it goes on the 25cc before buying another 668.
Had to replace the air filter as the stocker was long dead.
The one I bought is a 2 stage but actually has on offset to keep it away from the linkages.
The reason for the custom spacers on the fan cover was because the bolts were snapped off in the holes.
Lucky I had a spare cover and spacers in the parts bin.
I'm putting the Ghost pipe that I used to run on the 4WD before I got the Jetpro on it.
It used to go well with that on and sure is loud.

Nearly there.
She's up and running but still a bit to do.
It's faster than my 4WD but that's probably because it's lighter.
That little 25cc is a real suprise. Nearly there 800.jpg

Cage is set to go on next weekend IF I've got enough screws/bolts in the parts bin.
Half of the bolts were missing when I got it.
The reason he gave it to me was because the clutch was binding.
It was binding cause the 3 bolts holding the gear plate to the engine weren't there!

Yea, I feel like I'm slowly turning into a redcat pro tech. My cousin and I both bought XT's and I gotta help him get his running tomorrow.

Buggy is looking sweet! Going to be totally different to drive being 2 wheel drive. Skills needed for sure hahaha. Is it the same overall length as the 4x4 model?

Everything is exactly the same except for the front wheel drive parts.
It didn't come with a body but I'll be able to swap my body between the two.
It turns a lot better due to no front diff getting in the way.

Here she is in the flat bed ready to go down the beach.
Using the Ghost pipe means you have to raise the wing.
Luckily I still had the bits I made from when I had it on the 4WD. IMG_1260 800.jpg IMG_1262 800.jpg IMG_1265 800.jpg
