Needle Settings 668 Carb 30cc fuelie?

The low speed needle has the smaller screw head on it.

    Redcat kill switch

Disconnect the kill switch and gap the coil. Sometimes the coils move a bit and it causes starting/running issues. Could also be a stuck kill switch on the engine, that little red button on the side of the fan shroud. They tend to stick if they get dirty.

    Differential question

I don't think the diff is your issue. You're not getting power from the engine to the drivetrain. I would start by making sure the clutch is actually engaging, then just go down the line from there. Check your gears, as well. Make sure they turn without binding.

    Jumping the dunerunner

5th scales aren't as agile as an 8th scale vehicle, but you can sort of set them up like they're an 8th scale. If you're going to do a lot of jumping, I highly recommend setting up the suspension for it. The factory shock oil is really too thin, so you can start by changing it out for something...

    Help Engine won't start

Reset the carb needles back to factory, then pull the plug and let the cylinder air out overnight to clear out any excess fuel. After that, try to fire it up.

Brakes lock shortly after starting motor

Rebind it without setting the fail safe, you don't need it with these vehicles as they require an actual engine kill switch. Like I said, if that doesn't help, try a new spark plug. There have been quite a few Rampages that have shipped with bad plugs, so it's not totally uncommon. But before...

    Engine trouble

I'd reset the carb to stock settings and put on a better pipe, or just stick with the exhaust can until you can get a better one. Redcat pipes are known to melt and are just generally a hassle to work with.

    DDM dominator

I'm not entirely sure what the Redcats are coming with these days, but when I had one it came with a 668 which had a bit of lag during acceleration. The most common carb upgrade was a 813 or a 990. The 813 has an internal acceleration pump which helps with acceleration. The 990 is basically the...

    Steering linkage question

I swapped the out the dual servos for a single and I used the single servo linkage, it did have a bit of play.

    Battery modifications

Is this for a receiver pack? If so, they sell receiver switches that have a charge lead attached. They look like this

Brakes lock shortly after starting motor

Did your vehicle come with an onboard failsafe? Or is it built in with the radio? If it's built in, I'd trying rebinding the system with the failsafe at neutral and go from there. If it came with an onboard failsafe, junk it. If that doesn't help, try replacing the spark plug. A bad plug will...

    Need help, possibly with clutch.

Yeah, check out the clutch, man. Sounds like it's not engaging.

    Engine trouble

Sounds like there might be a restriction issue. Which pipe are you running?

    DDM dominator

Are you talking about the side pipe? If so, you'll need to trim the body a bit. As far as upgrading your carb, depends on your skill level. Some carbs can be tricky to get running right. What carb do you currently have?

Kershaw Rampage XTE 8S, XMAXX 8S, or CEN Colussus XT?

Speed = broken parts. I'd go for the one that you can easily get parts for, both stock and upgraded.

    Steering linkage question

The play could be in a few places. The ball links could be worn or the servo saver could be a bit loose. My MT always had a bit of play in it, though. Have you tried to wiggle the steering linkage back and forth to see if that's where the play is? Could also be in the tie rods.
