after almost finished breaking in this new 45 motor however stock gearing seems way too low now any advice on higher gears?

: Update I swapped over my gears from my XT 29 31 config
I gained about 10-15mph (at least what go pro says) who knows how accurate...

stock 25 35 gear set was hitting 20-25mph before hitting rpm wall this 45 not so rev happy
now 35mph I hit so far with xt gears
oh and low end is not gone still hard take offs maybe due to the size of the motor?

Dude I’ll be honest I’d be pissed with that speed and send that motor back and get a zenoah,i know they are different but whatmgearing is in the Rovan 5b max cause that truck runs it’s ass off with the 45?maybe you need totally diff gearing, might even have to have some made

Yeah i wasnt expecting much anyways zenoah always #1 esp if you get a ported one!
but the torque due to size is crazy which what i was aiming for right now tho i swapped over gears from my XT! its way better 29-31 config i might try 31-29 next

in the rovan trucks the 45 does haul ass but you gotta realize only 2 wheels (rears) putting power being 4x4 with big ass tires does slow it going to record new videos and test runs again lol!! wish me luck

I just read up on the Rovan and it's only claimed to be 4 HP.
About the same as a G290 Zen.
I think you'd be better off going for a shorter stroke engine if you want top speed.

Ya I seen that too they just have thier gearing down,my xt runs its ass off with the g320 in it and the belt drive and the belt drive is just a 1:1 but it’s got tons of low and highs,I also think just some trucks just run better for some odd freakish idea. Lol I do love my xt though but I changed everything in that truck to get it solid and reliable, money wise prob wasn’t worth it when I could have bought a 5t and bashed with little issues but I love customizing everything I own so I know that if I did have a 5t which I do wana get I’ll still dump tons of money into it. Lol

I run the 1:1 belt in my DR.
It flies.
Surely a 45 could do that.

It probably is your carb,I’ve heard a few people have that problem and if you keep an eye on eBay for the German guy,he still makes the belt drives, they are just hit and miss and I know you know but make sure you get the right one cause he seems to almost always have the fg or fs ones on there and they won’t work but I’ll try and keep an eye out too for you,I love being able to help out people, that’s what this hobby is all about and ya whenever you can grab yourself a zenoah,it’s so true they are Japan built and it’s like when you buy a cheap Chinese quad and it aucks, that’s the motors that come with our trucks then you go and buy a Yamaha or susuki quad and it fuckin runs it’s ass off, built really well that’s the zenoah,I wish I never even bought the cy motor I bought,I know thier are worked motors that run way better but most of them are zemoahs built up,for stock power they are awesome!!!I swear my xt runs man and like I said if or when down the road it breaks I’ll put the esp top end on to make it a g340!!!

The belt drive you want is the V5
He trades under the name Stern RC.
He only speaks German so you'll need to use translate to email him.
I've always found him to be very helpful.

Thanks a lot! for the help i will also keep on a lookout if I run into it ..if only our trucks already came with zenoahs instead of hy (stock)
I got a cy29rc stuffed from daves got it in 2013 on my XT hauls ass too and reliable and its a 2 bolt go figure right lol! honestly even the CY is better than our stock motors or other brand stock motors off brand kingmotor rovan) ETC..

Update I reset the carb settings then started off from there made it more rich
Removed the exhaust silencer (do they slow things? made a difference)
Adjusted my throttle wasn't opening 100% only 80%
More tunes later I am now able to even break the rear end lose! no high revs but big torque
Running 7k clutch now will go to a 8k here is a crappy video i tried to take

also was pulling hard!! now on the grass field no video of that (did not have my head mount gopro) bummer
once it hits certain rpms that torque kicks in kind of impressive for the weight and size of tires was kicking the grass to the air

Looking good
How's the top speed now the throttle is opening fully?

Seems way better that before i can actually see and hear it take off once my finger goes to 100% didnt think it would make that of a diff but boy i was wrong

Also do you know if those cheap pipe silencers can mess up power levels??? i also removed that too

I have a silencer on my Jetpro.
It doesn't seem to make any difference but mine is a Jetpro silencer not a cheapie.
Do you have a decent pipe on it or just the stocker?
I'd upgrade if it's stock.

I would definitely think the cheap silencer pulls som power away, not the good ones though, truck looks good, wow I bought the same motor right before my zenoah and it was the cy-gp290 with the stuffed crank 2 bolt which I didn’t know when I bought it,and of course it was a little faster then my stock hy but I was not impressed at all,it just seemed like it didn’t rev as high as it should do I called ddm and he told me ya that’s not the motor you want cause I was gonna try and get a bigger top end but he said they have nothing for that motor so he told me to buy the zenoah 320 and dammit I was gonna buy that first but of course I figured d save a hundred bucks lol. Get what you pay for but if you think your xt runs good with that motor wait till you up it to the zenoah. Lol night and day!!!Man good luck with the mt think you almost have it dialed in!!

The silencer on it was a random Cheapo from ebay lol however i do have a davesmotors one nice legit which i can use
The pipe is also from Rovan RC the 45 motor has wider holes so most regular pipes cant fit i had to get it from there its this one https://www.rovanrc.com/product-rv95066

They also sell another that fits the 45 made by Bartolone racing I believe seems legit
About 250$ tho
