Rampage XBE motor mount options?

Hey all, I'm new to this forum. I'm looking for information on motor mounts for the Rampage XBE. I noticed Kershawdesigns.com is down for good, I saw the 7075RC motor mounts but are there any others out there?

I have a leopard 5692 waiting to be installed :)

PS - General question, what are some good websites where I can buy hop-ups for the Rampage XBE? Thanks all!

@helloman1976 if you're looking for quality stuff then I'd probably just stop looking and go with the 7075RC motor mounts as you're probably not going to find anything better.

That said, it's unfortunate news for sure regarding Kershaw Designs as he made great products as well.

Yeah it's pretty sad, I saw that guys stuff and it look really nice. I bought the 7075RC motor mount, they make one for the leopard 5692. This motor is HUGE though, might be too powerful for this car. I do run this car a bit heavy though, 2 x 5,500 lipo packs and a heavier ESC (hobbywing max 6). I want to put some huge tires on it, I like the HPI tires.

You could always make your own motor mount :) that's what I did for my XBE and so far no problems.

What did you do, drill holes in the one that comes with the XBE? I was thinking about doing that but I already bought the 7075RC unit that goes to this leopard 5692 motor. I think this motor may be wayyy too powerful for this car but I'm gonna try it out. The stock motor gets pretty hot, burning hot to the touch, and I noticed I get a lot of cogging when then motor gets hot so I'm pretty sure it's fried. I replaced the factory ESC with the hobbywing max 6 so I know for sure it's not the ESC so the only thing left is the motor.

Oh well, I'll give this Leopard motor a shot and see what it does, I'm more than happy with 6S but I'll be 8S capable if I ever decide to do that.

What I did was cut the old motor mount off and welded a 10mm alloy plate and driiled and slotted to accommodate the sky toro beast 910kv motor. Its a tight fit with the can being pretty close to the centre drive shalf . I am running the hobbywing Max 5 ESC and only running 8s. Yeah its probably to much power but its sure is fun.

It looks pretty good to me. I was thinking about doing something similar but I already bought the 7075RC unit so I'll see how that is.

Looks like you ended up with an 8mm motor shaft also, what pinion did you go with? Still 10 tooth? I bought an 8mm pinion, 10 tooth, I wanted to keep the pinion the same so I picked up more torque as I don't need anymore speed...these things fly as is.

I want to keep the car drive-able and not just build it for pure speed like you would a drag car. I love this thing though, super fun! I want to get into even bigger scale. I have found that I really enjoy the larger scale cars/trucks more than the smaller stuff, seems more realistic in the way they move.

I started with a 12 tooth pinion and the standard spur with the standard wheels but then went to 5b wheels which then got the temps a little high but still manageable but now have gone back to the 10 tooth pinion by getting a tungsten carbide drill ( masonry drill ) to drill out the standard pinion. Temps came down to what I wanted and now offers me plenty of torque and plenty of speed. Its a fun buggy to drive :)

The problem I see with stock and with the kershaw is the limited gear choices. 11/41- 10/41. If your motor is hot your only choice is smaller tires.
I haven't sold many of mine in the last two years because the Kershaw one is much cheaper, At least that what I think, maybe I'm wrong.
Mine can run 10T thru 16T pinion gears and 44T or 48T spur gears. At least you had some choices. I am out of stock now and with sales being what they were I Don't see me making any more. BUT, I can make a much simpler unit at a much lower cost and still keep the wide gear choices.
LMK if you'all have an interest in a new ,lower cost electric motor mount.

I would be interested, is there any way you could make it so it fits the castle creations 2028 motor? Cuz that would be awesome. I'm looking to put that motor in my XTE

The 2028 will fit in the motor mount but it is too long for the stock chassis. I make my electric chassis 1/2 longer just for this reason.

The MT chassis are done so about two to three weeks. I'm shooting for under $80 with bearings and gears included.

I finished redesigning the old mount. It will save a lot in stock cost. I still have to re-do the upper brace to tie the two supports together.
I think I can get something to take a pic of this week.
