Machined billet aluminum chassis

Sounds like a plan to me. I understand the gassers wanting chassis wider but the brushless guys run the body down where it meets the side of chassis. Ideally it would be two chassis offered but I understand not doing that. There is currently no other conversions offered so if you design and make one it will sell

IMG_0418.JPG IMG_0419.JPG IMG_0421.JPG IMG_0422.JPG IMG_0426.JPG The hole locations have be worked out in the chassis. The only thing now is how wide. If we keep it as shown the side guards will clear most of the gear cover, only small holes for the smallest tips. The body would flair out a little and the side guards flair in a little. this would cover up all the area's under the body. For the electric guys we would cut off the chassis side extension with no cutouts in the side guards.
I will make seven for the first run and I will sell the test truck too.

What was the hole issue? Just want to make sure I didn't do something wrong

That is the height I got it at from the factory. It is sitting low, but I would run it with some foam under the body to push the body up against the body clips. The it would be level.

It looks great! Can't wait until they go up on sale. I'll be buying one and a second one later! Beautiful chassis!

I really don't like the side parts thought they would be made out of molded plastic
I agree but the tooling for a molded part would cost around $30,000 so that's not going to happen.
We may be able to heat the plastic and bend the bottom so it is rounded but it would not clear the gear cover so there would be a cutout.

It would be no problem to make the side guards out of aluminum. you could then paint it, anodize it, we could even put some louvers in it.
Spelling? those cut in slots like they have on hot rod hoods.

OK, I have seven. I'll sell them to the first seven who state they want them on this thread. $199.99 plus shipping. (about $12.50) no down required. Two weeks until I can ship them.

One question. If this chassis was narrowed to the raised ridge, on each side, would it still be as strong? Thinking I would like a narrower chassis without side guards.

Sure, those additions are just to hold the side guards on. I'll cut them off if you want.
