If you're just getting a Rampage MT here are a few things you might want to consider buying to get started. The below items will increase performance, run time and durability - all of which equals more FUN! :)

Required items for a new Rampage MT

Fuel - Go to your local gas station. :D

4x AA Batteries - These are for the transmitter, sure the Rampage comes with really cheap AA's but I'm a big fan of Eneloop rechargeable batteries and would certainly used these over stock. Either the Panasonic Eneloop or Eneloop Pro (higher capacity, longer run time).

Most Recommended Upgrades for the Redcat Rampage MT

Kill Switch - A kill switch will quickly and automatically kill the engine if at any time the truck loses radio signal, low or even total battery power loss. Saving you the trouble of this 30+ pound beast running wide open throttle at you, someone else, tree, or whatever. Get yourself a Killer RC kill switch and crisis averted!

Tuned Pipe - One of the most effective ways to wake up the stock engine is to install a tuned pipe and one that's probably most recommended would be the DDM dominator pipe.

Air Filter - Similar the a tuned pipe an upgraded air filter will allow much more air flow into the engine and help wake up the engine. I'd recommend doing the air filter and tuned pipe upgrade at the same time. The HPI Baja air filter makes a great upgrade.

Servos - The stock servos can leave a bit to be desired, so a quick and easy fix is to upgrade them to something better such as the Hitec 5765 for steering and Hitec 5685 for throttle.

Bearings - This doesn't come as a surprise really as bearings on most RC's are rarely shipped with quality bearings, some without bearings at at all. No matter, a nice quality set of bearings such as the ones Fast Eddy Bearings would be a set I'd recommend and have used on several of my RC's with great success.

This by no means is a complete list of upgrades, there are always more you can do such as 8,000 RPM clutch spring, steel gears, carb, or even a head kit and much more.

There are tons of upgrades available for the Redcat Rampage MT, if you have other suggested upgrades, please share below!

I hear the pipe on those breaks at a weld and dent easily. They are just thin aluminum.I just went to a ddm dominator after the remote kill switch. As far as the aluminum gear box cases, it is really up to you. I have had no problems with my plastic ones. The aluminum ones look much better but also add weight. So pros and cons there for ya.

thanks G-Man
No problem man. That MT is a blast for sure. Make sure you get a remote kill switch and install it before running it. It is pertinent, as that thing is huge and heavy. If for some reason the throttle gets stuck or lose radio reception, low batteries etc you want it to shut the engine off. Or you can shut it off yourself by turning off the radio. I've used it, I've NEEDED it numerous times. Have fun man!!

Picked up a pair of Hitek 5765 servos to replace my stock steering one that took both stripped out. Little disappointed the stock ones took a crap so quickly, and that the body now has a nice sized hole in thanks to the stock Pro tuned pipe ! I'll post a picture of it next time i remember.

I think the Mt is made cheap to get people into the 5th scales. It allows you to modify and upgrade as you so choose. Over time you will have your rig the way you want and or need it to be and will be very happy with it overall. Everyone runs their rig differently and some have certain problems where others do not. I personally have had many many issues that eventually I got worked out. Now with many hours of time setting up my MT the way I need it to be it has been pretty strong. It always has been fun though. I found that all of the electronics need upgraded, in fact I am surprised you haven't replaced the throttle servo yet. That was the first to start acting weird for me. So after reading I chose to replace it before it failed totally. Be careful with those hitec 5765 servos, they are not waterproof.

so you bought the MT Pro and you still had all these issues, so besides the electronics needing to be replaced, what about the tuned pipe/air filter...it's crazy that the Pro comes with all those metal upgrades but the bumpers are still plastic, also how is it that it says 32cc but on the engine says 30cc

I do not have the pro, I have a regular one. Same truck just plastic arms etc
Yes I had electronics issues not far into it
The Redcat tuned pipe is not the best either it is thin aluminum and will break eventually. DDM racing's Dominator pipe or a Jetpro is a good steel pipe that are awesome
You will want some plastic to take impacts, the bumper is a good place for it IMO. Where I am scratching My head as to why they used plastic on the pro is the diff housings.
It may say 30cc in the listing, but You will get a 32cc
