I know this has been covered in the past but I am new to 1/5 scale and was wondering if the Hitec HS-5765MH was still the best steering servo to put in the MT or is there another servo better suited for this truck? Also what throttle brake servo would you all recommend? Thanks in advance for your help, I am really excited to get my MT.

I will tell you what I have been through and you can decide what you want to do. I installed 2 of the Hitec hs 5765 servos for steering. They are very difficult to get adjusted to where they do not fight each other. I spent hours trying with no luck. They just wouldn't synch together no matter what i did. I'd get it to where it was good and run it ten minutes and from all the bumps and such the adjustment would no longer be good, I'd have to readjust. Could have been the radio /receiver set up I was using (Flysky it4s). I now sold the Flysky and bought a Futaba 4PLS radio system and a 7.4v lipo receiver battery, I also installed 1 savox 7.4v steering servo and a 7.4v thriottle servo so now everything in my electrical system runs on 7.4v. I took it out yesterday to try it out and what a huge difference in performance!! 1 good giant steering servo is better than 2 in my opinion.

Thanks for the replies.....Has anyone else had the same problem with running dual servos? Do the Hitec ones not like to sync? And would one of these servos be enough to run on these trucks? Thanks.

I have been runnin 2 Hitec servos as well. Not sure on the #s, they were $40 each on amazon. They do fight eachother. Pretty bad situation to the point it has been about 6 months since I have ran the truck.

I tried jus one of the hitec 5765 servos it wasn't strong enough by itself. I ended up wasting all that money on those 2 servos. Maybe make a winch out of one of them

What servos did you end up going with Gman?
I went with 1 Savox 0236 for steering , I waterproofed it myself-ddm said the waterproof version has a bad rep some failing right out of the box. So Steve said they don't even carry them. The throttle I did go with a waterproof Savox 0230. Good reviews on it. It does have less torque than the hitec of the same size, but I have ran a half dozen tanks with no issues at all. Stepped the system up to lipo also, and added a Futaba radio system. All is well with it now finally!! Good luck man

Thanks G-Man. You have been very helpful with all my posts. I really appreciate it since I'm new to this monster. Went with the mt pro and plan on doing lots of upgrades. I have a killer bee kill switch on the way as well.

Also I was wondering i had spoken to you about the lipo conversion and running straight to the power wire of the servo......I'm not planning on doing that right away......do you think running two of the steering servos you mentioned would give me any issues until I convert to lipo?

I will tell you what it took me months and months of frustration to finally come up with what I have now. Everything from choosing the wrong radio system upgrade to servo problems, the engine blew up, and many many more to list. I almost lost faith in my knowledge. I was that frustrated. But through many nights on the Internet I finally got it to where it should have been from the factory. It's by no means perfect but much better let's leave it at that lol. Good thing on the killer rc super bee kill switch by the way. It saved my rig a half a dozen times when I was having radio/receiver and servo problems.

One of those Savox 0236 servos is plenty. Eventually if I was you, I'd go with a Futaba radio system that the receiver is 7.4v lipo capable. That will allow you to run the lipo directly to your on/off switch right to the receiver. And both of your high volt servos will get 7.4v from the receiver. So no need to do the wiring mod with the BEC. That wiring mod is only needed if your receiver can't handle 7.4v and you have a high volt servo you want to power 7.4v directly.

I already purchased another traxxas receiver because I run all of my vehicles off of the traxxas transmitter with the docking base. Eventually I may go to a different transmisster but for now I am sticking with the traxxas due to the ammount of vehicles I would have to change over. I looked into the Savox servo and it is double the torque of the Hitec so I will be going with it. Thanks again for all your help. Like you said I have done a lot of researching and still have several questions lol

And did you not like the Hitec 5645mg throttle servo? I have a 72 dollar credit with tower hobbies and was going to purchase the savox servos from them but I don't see that they sell them.

That hitec 5645 servo was fine I guess. But I had issues with it. Maybe it got wet, maybe the crummy flysky radio system, I don't know. For sure it's not waterproof, I'm pretty sure it's not lipo capable at a max 6 volts, and I'm not a fan of mixing brands. Not sure how they react with each other. Like I said my whole system is 7.4v now.

Is that Traxxas receiver rated for 7.4v or is there an internal bec that makes it run at 6v? If it runs at 7.4v just get both Savox servos we were talking about. I understand you have a credit. The 0230 is cheap suprizingly

From what I am reading it will burn the receiver up if you hook it up to 7.4 volts. I will probably run it on 6v for now with the new servos and in the very near future at least run positive wires to the servos like we talked about and get a bec for the receiver. I also wanted to make sure I didn't need anything else to run these servos. Do they Bolt right up? Same size and everything? I'm new to 1/5 scale and all of my vehicles now the servos are all the same type and size. I'm sorry I'm asking so many questions I just paid a lot for the pro and don't want to have a run away or anything.
