I'm brand new to the Redcat brand. I just picked up a new in box rampage XB last night. Was there a reason these fell off production and they continued with the truck platform. should i just buy the truck? i paid 550 out the door which didn't seem bad to me considering i wanted it anyway and left room for some upgrades considering the cost difference between the buggy and truck. RC logic applied... i really like the buggy style vehicles anyway. I started looking over it. I've been reading all i can. My search results are all over from what seems that everything needs to replaced asap to replace things as they break and upgrade then. don't buy an XB period.. Etc,Etc,Etc... I see the kill switch is a must had that one checked off. Majority points to killer B brand for a kill switch. Clearly it needs to be disassembled and reassembled. I have found lots of loose screws just looking over it. I saw a few posts of copper pipe pieces over the diff cups to keep them from breaking. Is the stock radio worth keeping or upgrade to a entry 3 channel with a dedicated channel for the kill or just run the stock 2 channel radio the came with it for now. It is a RCR 2C radio. Since I have it apart is there a recommended diff lube for these vehicles and if so what is a good weight for just general bashing around. The purpose of this post was to try try to get as many issues solved ahead of time if at all possible. Is it better to break these in on conventional dino oil rather than syn stuff. Lots of experience in the 2 stroke world on modded engines just wondering how things apply to these little china motors. i appreciate any advice and any thing that truly needs to be upgraded to make these more trouble free.
