Default Sumo RC Replaced Batterie

This is my sumo rc with small battery mod.
Batteries got replaced with venom 6v4200 nimh from 5th scale.

Overall weight almost tripled but performance increased 10 times.

Planning to change that huge batteries to much smaller one 1600 nimh

Also motor gets really hot so it will gt replaced with newer and will get heatsink + fan.

I know it's over-weighted and central gravity point is to high, bla bla blah.
But still it's a good way to start.

SO far have following in mind about this sumo.

- Venom 6V 4200nimh batterie to venom 6V 1600nimh batterie. Much smaller and lighter.
- Stock motor to upgraded one or possibly brushless if find one of that scale.
- Stock gears are plastin so those need to be replaced with metal or harder plastic
- replace regular radio/mb with 2.4 radio
- replace servo to mg servo or replace gears in current servo to metal.

Problems so far:
- Not strong enough shocks with this batteries pack
- Stock motor overheats like hell

I am not sure if all of those changed are possibly, but hey, we have china and china has everything

And another video of it actually running

go with a 2s lipo and if you need weight put it inside the rims or under the axles

I was thinking about that.

Any suggestions what brush-less motor and esc to get?
I was kinda searching and got kinda how to choose esc for motor but still a bit confused.

You have many choices...you have to start with measuring the available space for the new motor / esc...look at 1/18 size...just a quick google I found this
http://www.hobbypartz.com/20301.html

if fit, real cheap to play round with...need small ez run esc as well..
.I think Hobby King has EZ run combo's that size range.

this is a micro... I would look at what is available for the micro t. I don't know this truck very well but the losi has brushless stuff. I like anything castle because you can set the drag brake. drag brake at like 100% will allow it to hold on an inclination without touching the trigger. like I said I don't know this model but the losi same scale has worm gears in the tranny that holds as good as any drag brake

ok i found combo deal for esc and motor
http://www.nitrorcx.com/ezrun-combo-...5a-sl-esc.html

last part is battery:
With 4-6 cells NiMH/NiCd or 2 cells Lipo: On-Road≥12T, Off-Road≥18T;
With 6-9 cells NiMH/NiCd or 3 cells Lipo: On-Road≥18T, Off-Road≥24T;

Questions:
1) More KV means more torque right?
2) If yes then 12T and 18T means one motor comes with 12 tooths gear another with 18 tooths gear. There fore 12T has more torque and has higher KV. Correct?

No, actually the T stands for turns. It is how many times the copper is wound around the inside of the motor, A larger size can will give you more torque.
You question is answered with where you will be driving it.
for example the 7800 KV with 3s lipo will burn up if you run that long off roading. the 5200 is actually the 18T...and would be better for all round drivin on 2s...
